Ralph Nader presidential campaign, 2004 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ralph Nader ran for the office of U.S. Presidency in the 2004 election, as he also had in several previous elections.
In some states, Nader was on the ballot as an independent candidate, while in a number of other states, Nader was deemed not to have met the requirements for ballot access, and was not on the ballot at all.
As of October 26, 2004, Nader was slated to appear on the ballot in 34 states and Washington, DC, and was definitely off the ballot in eight states (California, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Virginia).

A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush.
Nader voters in 2004, to use the parlance of election-speak, were “persuadables,” With the right message and focus, these 2000 Nader voters could be persuaded to join with Democrats.
While Nader may want to blame Democrats and others for this failure, it is hard to argue with the reality that his 2004 campaign simply could not spark the same excitement with old or new supporters.
His inept campaign filed a frivolous lawsuit alleging that some mysterious, unspecified "clerical error" led to the disqualification of 897 invalidated signatures, which the judge promptly rejected for failure to provide any actual facts in the course of suing the wrong person.
