The Writings of Henry D. Thoreau
According to Walter Harding's The Days of Henry Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson once noted that most of the branches of learning were taught at Harvard, to which Thoreau replied: "Yes, indeed, all the branches and none of the roots" (51).
Although Thoreau proposed marriage to one woman (and was proposed to by another), Harding concludes that the preponderance of the evidence indicates that he had a fundamental attraction to other men, an attraction sublimated through his writing and his passion for nature.
In 1862, shortly before he died, Thoreau is reported to have said to his sister, Sophia: "I have always loved her" (Walter Harding, The Days of Henry Thoreau, 104).

Action TV - The World Of Tim Frazer episode guide
I am delighted that the part of Tim Frazer is to be played by that excellent actor Jack Hedley; that Alan Bromly, who has been associated with my previous serials, will be producing the first, and that the second and third adventures are to be produced by Terence Dudley and Richmond Harding.
Apart from Jack Hedley's unusual and intelligent portrayal of a modern "hero", the performance of Ralph Michael as Charles Ross has also attracted a great deal of favourable comment.
The programme, which would feature three six-part stories, marked a radical change in BBC Television's schedules as it was, until the emergence of Z-Cars as a popular weekly serial in 1962, the longest-running serial the network had ever previously transmitted (running to a sum total of eighteen episodes).

 WorldNetDaily: Hamstringing minor political parties
During the 2000 election cycle, Green Party nominee Ralph Nader and Reform Party nominee Patrick J. Buchanan complained that the rules for including third-party candidates in the debates -- formulated by the Commission on Presidential Debates, which again is staffed by Republicans and Democrats only -- were too unrealistic and stringent.
In New York, Raymond Harding, who heads the Liberal Party, also blamed Republican and Democratic party control of the election commissions throughout the state as the reason why the new proposals are harder on third parties.
Parties listed officially in New York are: Republican, Democrat, Independence, Conservative, Liberal, Right-to-Life, Green and the Working Families Party.
