Ramblin' Jack Elliott - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ramblin' Jack Elliot (born Elliott Charles Adnopoz, August 1, 1931) is an American folk performer.
Elliott's musical style heavily influenced Bob Dylan to the point where Dylan's first gig in New York City was billed as "Son of Jack Elliott." While Dylan rose to prominence through his compositions, Elliott continued as an interpretive troubaour, bringing old songs to new audiences in an idiosyncratic manner.
Jack Elliott's style is distinctive in its use of excellent guitar technique matched with laconic, humorous storytelling and an emotional intensity in the singing.
