One at a time, members eventually began to come home only after their maximum sentences expired: Alberta Africa in 1988 after 7 years, Alfonso Africa in 1990 after 5 years, Ramona Africa in 1992 after 7 years, and Sue Africa in 1992 after 12 years.
To provide a legal basis for the Osage Avenue attack, Judge Lynne Abraham signed arrest warrants on May 11th for Ramona, Conrad, Frank and Teresa Africa on charges of disorderly conduct and terrorist threats.
JOHN AFRICA'S analysis is borne out in the fact that by the 1990's, prison construction had become the largest growth industry in the country.

And then, as you say, she has different names, and when she ends up in Africa she finds herself the bourgeois wife of a bourgeois African man and essentially powerless and, in many ways, replicating her mother’s life back in Massachusetts in an odd and ironically flipped way.
Russell Banks has been writing about class and race for some time, but this time we’re looking at middle-class left puritan politics and at his character, Hannah Musgrave, as she considers her life as an ex-member of the Weather Underground.

Ramona: The contrast is very clear because Ed Rendell was part of the conspiracy to murder MOVE people and Mumia.
Ed Rendell was the chief negotiator for the DA’s office with MOVE for years before he even actually became the District Attorney.
It was Ed Rendell as District Attorney that got warrants for MOVE people in May of 1985 and also in 1978 knowing that MOVE people are innocent, and had not committed any crime.
