We maximized the num- ber of species-level taxa used, instead of individuals, to estimate levels and patterns of genetic variation within and among families.

NAHUM, L. Diversification of Ramphastinae (Aves, Ramphastidae) prior to the Cretaceous/Tertiary boundary as shown by molecular clock of mt DNA sequences.
The main stumbling block, then as now, was Semnornis, but the level of genetic divergence strongly supports Prum's original proposal of lumping the two families, with Semnornis somewhere within as "incertae sedis".

It wasn’t long before the capture and importation of toucans, toucanets, and aracaris; all members of the family Ramphastidae, became big business on the high seas.

 Capitonidae
Given that the old World Barbets are now usually split into multiple families, I would think we could survive the same with the new world taxa.
"I vote no on this one, mainly because the option of separating the Ramphastidae, Capitonidae and Semnornithidae as Incertae Sedis is reasonable.
I don't like the idea of lumping all into Ramphastidae, it makes the family less meaningful, information is lost in terms of understanding that a Ramphastid is. I prefer the option of expanding the families rather than lumping.
