Randall’s desire to learn was sparked at the age of eight when he heard the “Orange Blossom Special” by Ervin Rouse and Chubby Wise.
Randall saw a bluegrass void in some areas in his home state of Georgia so in the mid 1980s he began promoting bluegrass concerts using regional talent in communities that did not have bluegrass events nearby to increase the visibility of the field outside bluegrass festivals.
Randall served as the Chairman for the Catoosa Citizens for Literacy in 2002-04.

Randall and Hopkirk aired in Canada in the early seventies (exact airdates and network are unknown, although its likely it was aired on CBC) and was screened on the NBC network in USA as My Partner The Ghost.

This is the same premise as "Darling Buds." Catherine Zeta-Jones plays the comely daughter, a virtual "wood nymph" who snares the gentle heart of the young tax man. Interestingly, in the pilot episode, we learn that she probably is (but maybe isn't) pregnant.
