		Randolph is a heavily forested town located in Coos County, New Hampshire, extending from the northern slopes of the White Mountains of the Presidential Range (to the south) to Berlin (to the north), with U.S. route 2 cutting through the middle.
		Randolph Hill has the site of the Mt. Crescent House (hotel), which opened in 1883 as the "Randolph Hill House" and was torn down in 1971.
		Randolph's geography is hilly, from the slopes of the presidentials to Mount Crescent.

	Peyton Randolph
		In 1754 Randolph serving as the Attorney General of the Colony of Virginia was commissioned by the House of the Burgesses to travel to London and convince the English ministry on the unconstitutionality of the pistole fee exaction.
		Randolph's promised compensation for the London mission, £2,500, caused a long struggle between the governor and the burgesses, who made the sum a rider to one of £20,000 voted for the General Braddock’s doomed campaign against Fort Duquesne.
		Randolph resumed his duties as speaker of the burgesses in May 1775, and after their adjournment he returned to the Congress at Philadelphia and was re-elected President.

	Sir John Randolph
		Randolph prosecuted cases for the Crown until he followed his legal studies to London to be admitted to Grays Inn at the Inns of Court on May 17, 1715.
		Randolph returned to Virginia to report success in both endeavors and was dispatched again to England in 1732 to try to persuade Parliament to adopt an excise on tobacco imported to England.
