  Air Education and Training Command - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Air Education and Training Command (AETC), with headquarters at Randolph AFB near San Antonio, Texas, was established July 1, 1993, with the realignment of Air Training Command and Air University.
Prospective airlift and tanker pilots are assigned to the airlift/tanker track and train in the T-1 Jayhawk at Columbus AFB, Miss., Laughlin AFB, Texas, or Vance AFB, Okla. Student pilots headed for bomber or fighter assignments are assigned to the bomber/fighter track and train in the T-38 Talon at Columbus, Laughlin or Vance.
It was relocated to Scott AFB, Illinois, in 1949, and moved to Randolph AFB in 1957.

Randolph is headquarters of the U.S. Air Force Air Education and Training Command, the 19th Air Force, the 12th Flying Wing, the Air Force Personnel Center, the Air Force Recruiting Service Headquarters and the Air Force Center for Quality and Management Innovation.
Randolph Air Force Base was dedicated June 20, 1930, as a flying training base and continues in that mission today.
Randolph Field was dedicated June 20, 1930, with an estimated 15,000 people in attendance and a fly-by of 233 planes, possibly the largest assembly of military aircraft in the world.

November 17, 2005 - Homebuilts and classic airplanes owned by EAA Texas Fly-In (EAA Southwest Regional Fly In) members were among the dozens of military and civilian aircraft on display at Randolph Air Force Base's 75th Anniversary Air Show in San Antonio November 5-6.
The event drew more than 250,000 attendees to commemorate 75 years of training excellence at Randolph AFB, which was dedicated June 20, 1930.
These Vietnam-era spotter and air ambulance Cessnas were show favorites as they were retired from active service in 1974 and none had been seen at Randolph AFB since then.
