Randall William Rhoads was born to William Arthur and Delores Rhoads on December 6, 1956 at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica California.
Randy was convinced that the audition wouldn't amount to much, since he was content to stay with Quiet Riot.
On the road, Randy was known for his stellar live performances and when the first tour began the crowds would cheer for Ozzy, but soon an equal amount of the audience was coming to see the newest sensation in rock-n-roll, Randy Rhoads.

 Randy Rhoads
Rhoads came from a musical family (his mother was a school music teacher) and began playing guitar before he even reached the age of ten.
Although Rhoads voiced dissatisfaction with his playing on the album in interviews at the time (they were rushed to meet a deadline), his six-string work was astounding, especially on such tracks as "Over the Mountain," "Flying High Again," "Little Dolls," and the title track.
Rhoads was finally getting his due as a guitarist (he just won the Best New Guitarist award from Guitar Player magazine), when he was killed in a freak airplane accident while on tour in Florida on the morning of March 19, 1982.

Rhoads was very sweet to both Steve Lang and I. She had some memorabilia of her son all set up in an area of the school for fans to look at.
Randy is laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery, 570 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA 92406.
