Ranganatha Swami temple (also called Talpagiri Ranganathaswami temple or Ranganayakulu) is one of the oldest temples in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, India.
It is located on the banks of the river Penna and is believed to have been constructed in the 12th century.
Just before the main entrance of the temple is a huge tower, called gali gopuram, which literally means "wind tower".

Swami Desikan prays to SaThAri Soori to command the rays extending from the gems to serve as a net to capture his darting indhriyams and land them at the sacred feet of the Lord.
Swamy compares the hard hearts of those, who are far away to the iron particles at a distance and the gems of the Paadhukais to the magnet that attracts those iron particles (lOhakAnthA: ayasAmiva dhavIyasAm kaDinAnAm.

On the side was a temple of Ranganatha Swami and also there was a cave that the demigods used to come and take darshan of all the Deities.
The sign on the gate leading to the temple said that the entrance fee was 5 rupees a head, but when we approached the gatekeeper said that this fee was only for native Indians and that we would have to pay 5 dollars a head (except for those of us who were Indians).
We could not see the main deity of Ranganatha as the temple was being renovated in anticipation of a very big festival that would take place in 10 days, but we were able to see the other Deities.
