The RSO may ask the flyer for a computer simulation printout or other data or calculations for the flight if the rocket-motor combination is in question.
The RSO must question the participant about aspects of the rocket that may concern him and he must be thoroughly convinced that his concerns are appropriately addressed before approving the rocket for launch.

We established comms with the range safety officer and conducted a clearing pass over the helo pad to plan the approach.
The pad appeared to be clear, but the range safety officer radioed that there were several protesters in the vicinity that would probably try to block us from landing.
After some additional coordination with the range safety officer, we were able to get the protesters to move inside the blockhouse which allowed us to make another pass and land.

The range was closed by a govenrnment agency and reopened by a lot of work by our club leaders and a republican congressman and represents a significant accomplishment according to an NRA wheel who was present at the reopening because the range is in a major metropolilten area.
The range has been rebuilt and lead and brass remediation is in place and club dues have about doubled but it's still a bargain.
