Ranji Trophy - The Cricket Championship of India began in the 1934-35 season.
The trophy was donated by the then Maharaja of Patiala, H.H.Bhupender Singh to the BCCI in fond memory of Sir RanjitSinhji who has the honour of playing test cricket for England and also has the distinction of being the first Indian to be the 'Wisden Cricketer of the year' way back in 1897.
This is the 69th Edition of the Ranji Trophy and as many as 30 teams involved in it.
