Based on data from 240 programs that responded to the magazine, the school was ranked seventh in elementary education and higher education administration, ninth in secondary education and 10th in counseling and personnel services.
It is important to note, however, that the rankings are largely dependent on peer and school superintendent ratings, which are very subjective.
The methodology for determining the objective measures used in the overall school rankings also change periodically and may contribute to changes reported from one year to the next.

The Ferris State University women's volleyball team is ranked 17th overall in the 2005 CSTV/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll which was announced Monday (Aug. 8) by the AVCA.
Ferris concluded the 2004 campaign ranked 20th in the AVCA's final regular-season poll.
Truman State (Mo.) ranked second with 803 points along with six first-place votes while Barry (Fla.) notched 13 first-place votes and 767 points in ranking third.
