  Robinson Part-Time MBA Program Ranked 5th in Nation
Among public universities, Robinson College of Business ranked first nationally and was the only university from the South in the top 10.
The rankings are included in the magazine's annual special edition guidebook titled "Best Graduate Schools." The guidebook and the magazine (April 11 issue) containing excerpts from the guide will be available on newsstands Friday, April 5, and the expanded online rankings will be available on April 5 at www.usnews.com.
Business Week magazine ranked the College's Executive MBA program among the top 20 in the world and Forbes rated Robinson in the top 20 for return on investment for regional schools.

In the past several years, comparison between classes was possible because all rankings were based on the winning boat in each race, but the rankings for 2004 have been calculated based on the winner of each class in each race instead.
Rob Murphy was ranked 5th, in his first year of serious wildwater racing, and a resurgent Bern Collins ranked 6th.
The total number of C-2s ranked in 2004 was much lower than the last few years, because open boats from a large number of races were not included in the final rankings.

Many of UCSF's specialty programs were rated highly: the medical center ranked 5th in neurology, 6th in pulmonary disease, 7th in ophthalmology, 8th in gastroenterology and 10th in otolaryngology.
Psychiatry was ranked 11th, rheumatology and urology both ranked 12th, geriatrics 13th, orthopedics 15th, cancer 16th, cardiology 17th, and pediatrics 19th.
The rankings are based on three equally weighted components: reputation, death rates and other data, including the number of nurses at a hospital and the technology available to patients.

American University's Marc Hoffer (R-Jr., Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) is ranked 5th in the nation at 149 pounds in the Feb. 14 Amateur Wrestling News (AWN) poll.
Hoffer also held the previous highest ranking for an Eagles' wrestler when he was 7th in the Dec. 12, 2000 AWN poll.
Also, on Jan. 29, Hoffer upset Hofstra's Eric Schmeising, who at the time was ranked 5th in the nation, at the prestigious National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Star Classic at Franklin and Marshall College.

The University of New Mexico is ranked 5th out of the top 100 federally funded institutions in regard to the impact of materials science papers over the years 1996-2000 by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI).
The University of Southern California is ranked 1st with 170 papers and 8.50 citations per 1996-2000; Harvard University is ranked 2nd with 177 papers, 8.18 citations; 3rd is University of California, 405 papers, 7.60 citations; 4th is Princeton University, 166 papers, 5.57 citations.
Two papers from the center were ranked 10th and 11th in their citation impact.
