	Rapper's Delight - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		“Rapper’s Delight” is a 1979 single by American hip hop trio The Sugarhill Gang; it was one of the first hip hop hit singles.
		The song was used in the final stages of an imaginative Honda commercial/advert, The Cog, in the United Kingdom in 2003/2004.
		The strings and piano sections on "Rapper's Delight" sound so close to the original recording that some suggest portions of the track are in fact tape loops.

	Rappers Delight
		In September of 1979, "Rapper's Delight" was released and became the first hip hop single released on the Sugar Hill label, formed in New Jersey earlier in the year by former R&B singer Sylvia Robinson.
		It became a classic of "old school" rap and would influence Run-DMC, who became the first national rap superstars in the early 1980s, and would record their own version of "Rapper's Delight" in 1994 for the 15th anniversary of the birth of rap music.
		The "new school" rap would flourish on the West Coast starting in the late 1980s.
