		Rasht or Resht, city in northwestern Iran, capital of Gīlān Province, on a branch of the Sefid River, near the Caspian Sea.
		Rasht is nestled between the coast of the Caspian Sea and the slopes of the Alborz mountain range on a branch of the Sefid River.
		It is situated 317 km by road north-west of Tehran and is approximately 30 km from the Caspian Sea.
