		It could be suggested that Durandal may have had schizophrenia, and that his recurring "conversations" with Rau are the result of delusions and hallucinations induced by said disease.

		Strand does tend to speak with less vigor than is probably required for the character, but by the end of the volume she seems to sound more comfortable in the role, even issuing a convincing command towards Rau Le Creuset.
		As for Le Creuset himself, Mark Oliver’s performance as the calm and clever commander remains a strong and entertaining one, bringing out Rau’s witty and shrewd personality without flamboyant excess.
