	History of Tuckerman Ravine
		Perched on the southeastern side of Mt. Washington is Tuckerman Ravine, a glacial cirque, small by the standards of higher mountains, that has an outsized reputation in the ski world.
		Practicing in the ravine, he perfected a two pole turn in which he planted both poles, jumped his tails off the snow while keeping his tips brushing the surface and his upper body facing downhill, then pivoted his skis into an edgeset and prepared for a new turn.
		Jeffrey is the Director of the New England Ski Museum and an avid skier of Tuckerman Ravine.

		Communities range from dry, exposed bluff associations, dominated by post oak, fljack oak and American agave, to moist ravine forests with splendid spring wildflowers and sandy stream banks with a variety of moisture-loving plants, such as sedges, smartweeds and scouring rushes.

		Summary: The 4 rated Strike Ravine trail covers the terrain on the east side of Highway 191 opposite Behind the Rocks and Kane Creek which are on the west side.
		After lunch, we climbed up out of the ravine on a very loose hill with several ledges towards the top that tested the vehicles that were not locked.
		In the bottom of the ravine, there was a large ledge that allowed Gene to try out the spring over suspension he built this last winter.

	Tuckermans Ravine
		The ridge above the ravine is mostly flat and is where many of the alpine plants grow.
		Passing the Alpine Garden trail we soon reconnected with the Tuckermans Ravine trail and rested for a while before we began our hike back to the car.

		The home sits on one edge of five acres, and a ravine lies on the other edge near a road.
