The Honourable John Hnatyshyn (January 20, 1907 – May 2, 1967) was a Canadian lawyer, Senator and father of Ray Hnatyshyn, the twenty-fourth Governor General of Canada.
Hnatyshyn was educated at the University of Saskatchewan -- where he later lectured for 10 years -- and was called to the bar in 1957.

There were certainly those who worked more closely with Ray and certainly those who were much closer friends, but Ray was such that no matter how minor a role you played in his life, he had the special gift of making you feel as if he cared about you and that you mattered.
