Raybon Kan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Raybon Kan is a Masterton, New Zealand-born Chinese comedian and newspaper columnist.
The family moved to Wellington, New Zealand soon after his birth, where he began his education at St Mark's Church School (where he was Dux in 1979 and showed an early flair for public performance) and continued through to Wellington College.
His family's Chinese surname is not, in fact, Kan. This came from a clerical error when one of Kan's ancestors emigrated to New Zealand and one of his given names was recorded as his surname.

Jack Yan: the Persuader Blog: I retort, you decide
When Stacy first blogged about Jack Cooper’s confusion between Raybon and me, I thanked her and did think it was humorous.
However, as readers know, running an image of me alongside editorial about Raybon was less than humorous to me or to Raybon—and now half a dozen people with Chinese blood in related industries agree, and had been wondering how something like this could happen in 2006.
I have long since forgiven Stacy and the site for the error: it was an interesting reminder about email communications—and an opportunity to note that this blog, for me, is a record of events and thoughts shared with others, rather than a tool for attacking a colleague.
