Ungureanu said that this memorandum was submitted to the Romanian government's approval for 17 February meeting and that the agreement of the Serbian side is now awaited, after which the signing of the document will follow.
Ungureanu told the audience present at the opening ceremony of the Romanian consulate in Vrsec that there is a bilateral project in place under which Romanian businessmen, people from cultural domains and journalists will be exempted from paying the visa fee to enter Serbia-Montenegro.
Ungureanu hailed the interest of the Serb-Montenegrin authorities in the preservation of the Romanian minority's national identity, stressing that this is a guarantee for the good relations existing between the two countries.

Responding to questions of the A.A, Ungureanu said that Turks had important investments in food, textiles and banking sectors of Romania and noted that the story of the Turkish investors in Romania was a real success story.
Ungureanu stressed that Turkish investors were the first businessmen who came to Romania to make investment, noting that ''they opened important doors and they have become good examples for businessmen of other countries.'' He remarked that Romania attributed special importance to formation of direct energy lines between the two countries.

Ungureanu, who is not Jewish, grew up in the city of Iasi, considered historically a center of anti-Semitism, and he cited that history as influencing his interest in Romanian Jewish history and the Holocaust.
