The actual core of the reactor measures 22 centimeters in diameter and 22 centimeters in height.
The core is cooled by natural convectional flow of the water moderator and at maximum power reaches a temperature of approximately 50 degrees C. The heat generated is dissipated by warming up a larger outer pool of water several degrees by conduction through the walls of the container.
