Reading School is a grammar school in the town of Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom.
It is a single-sex boys school, which selects all of its incoming students on the basis of examined ability, usually at age 11, with a few entrants at 13 and 16.
However, Reading was exempted in 1973 (along with the girls grammar school in Reading, Kendrick) after a petition of over 30,000 local people (a third of the voters of Reading) was handed to the government.

Background: Mold was recently detected in the Pine Forge Elementary School in the Boyertown School District, the Monocacy Kindergarten Center in the Daniel Boone School District, and the Oley Valley Elementary School.
The Reading district filed the suit in December — one of the first of its kind in the country — claiming the law discriminates against urban schools and that state funding was not sufficient to allow the district to comply.
The Exeter School Board has learned that the anticipated expenses for the 2004-05 school year will be about $2 million higher than revenues and discussed the need for a possible 2.5-mill tax increase.
