Rebecca Pidgeon (born October 10, 1965) is an actress, singer, songwriter, and the wife of playwright David Mamet.
In the mid and late 80s she was the main element of the British folk/pop band Ruby Blue.
Pidgeon left Ruby Blue, which sank into obscurity, and concentrated on her acting career, starring in Mamet's plays and films—first the film Homicide, then in the play Oleanna, a part written for her.

Nancy Bryan Neon Angel and Rebecca Pidgeon The Raven by Wayne Donnely
If memory serves, The Raven was Rebecca Pidgeon's first Chesky recording, and that always sound-conscious company has done well with the DSD remastering and this SACD.
Artistically, Pidgeon is a polar opposite to Nancy Bryan.
Bryan wears her heart on her sleeve; Pidgeon projects an air of ironic detachment, both in her delivery and in the songs she writes, sometimes in collaboration with her superstar husband, playwright and film director David Mamet.

Certainly another testament to Rebecca Pidgeon's vocal arrangements, singing talent and songwriting collaboration, this album is worth exploring, especially by those that really enjoy traditional Celtic music.

Playbill Features: Rebecca Pidgeon Talks About Mamet's The Old Neighborhood
Pidgeon herself is very much of the here and now, and is definitely not one to dwell on the past.
Of course it helped to be married to a prominent playwright and not to have to pound the pavements -- Mamet wrote Oleanna for Pidgeon -- but the actress definitively proved her mettle with her stunning performance in that play, in which her seemingly meek and dim-witted schoolgirl was transmogrified into a grotesque reactionary.
It's clear that Pidgeon is closely connected to the work of Mamet -- both as muse and interpreter -- and she speaks passionately about the resonance of his dialogue: "If you take one of the lines and examine it, it's like poetry -- it can have two or three meanings at the same time.

SPLICEDwire | "Heist" review (2001) David Mamet, Gene Hackman, Rebecca Pidgeon, Danny DeVito
Hackman is subtly spectacular as the haggard but resilient career thief with plans to literally sail off into the sunset on his custom boat packed with bullion booty from "the Swiss thing" -- the multifarious, daring and incredibly detailed cargo plane heist assigned by DeVito and in the works throughout the picture.
Mamet's wife, muse and often stilted leading lady Rebecca Pidgeon gives a standout performance as Hackman's Machiavellian girlfriend, a smoky, sultry tomboy-tough siren of a femme fatale.
Sam Rockwell ("Charlie's Angels") is perfectly cast as DeVito's high strung, slimeball nephew who comes so close to blowing the gang's cover that a convoluted plan is concocted to get him out of the picture.
