Topic: Reckoning of Hell

Reckoning of Hell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the cosmology of the fantasy role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons, the Reckoning of Hell (often referred to as the Reckoning) was a civil war that shaped the political landscape of the Nine Hells into its current form.
In the times before the Reckoning, the Lords of the Nine Hells were divided into two factions.
Mephistopheles, lord of Cania, the eighth layer of Hell, led one faction.

Baator - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The current political climate of Baator was determined by a civil war known as the Reckoning of Hell.
The topography of Baator is broadly derived from the Hell described in Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy, although the arrangement and names of the layers of Baator differ greatly from the circles of Hell described by Dante.
The Outer Plane of Mount Celestia is likewise loosely inspired by Dante's depiction of Heaven and Purgatory.

 hell
Hell is a place no one likes to talk about, much less go there, however, Jesus spoke more on hell than on heaven and had very strong warnings to keep people He loved from going there.
Hell was made for the devil and his angels, it was not first intended for man. In Rev. 14:10-11 it describes their experience, "he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation.
Hell is not the absolute final punishment for those who refused to turn from ruling and ruining their own lives with their own sin nature.

By any standard, the Twentieth Century was a time of sheer Hell — two world destroying wars; unending civil war; fascist and communist totalitarianism, and myriad other forms of dictatorship, genocide, xenophobia, religious hysteria, political assassination, and terrorism.
We will explore this era by focusing on the following themes: 1) the experience of living through Hell; 2) the contending theories of Hell's origins; 3) the threat of going to Hell; and 4) the problem of reckoning with Hell.

The exact temperature of hell cannot be computed but it must be less than 444.6°C, the temperature at which brimstone or sulfur changes from a liquid to a gas.
As authority we use the data provided in Revelations 21 8 [2], so that the temperature of Hell seems to be 444.6ºC–the temperature at which liquid sulfur is in equilibrium with its vapour–a temperature indeed which is sufficiently reliable to be used in the secondary calibration of pyrometers.
The sulfurous stench and the fire was the original of the Christian concept of Hell.

Death is not real; heaven and hell are states of mind; the way to reach heaven is by attaining harmony (oneness with God).
No sin or need to repent; salvation is freedom from reincarnation; one must work with an "auditor" on his "engrams" (hang-ups) to achieve the state of "clear" then progress up the "bridge to total freedom".
Hell is a myth; people who get clear of engrams become operating thetans.

Some thoughts on the Dawn remake and Dead Reckoning - The CHUD.COM Message Boards
I've only read actual snippets of the Dead Reckoning script (probably an old draft) many moons ago, but it seemed like a script that some laymen wrote based on how they "thought" a Romero movie should be.
A quick summary of my recollection is that the Captain of Dead Reckoning is trying to earn his place in a fortress like utopia by doing the dirty in the zombie wasteland for the leaders of this society.
Hell no. Why I don't worship at his alter like some, I love the dead movies, I have as much respect for what he has done like everyone else (while his zombie movies may not be my favourites, without him there would be NO other zombie movies.

 THE RECKONING
There are numerous verses where the word “reckon,” or “reckoned” is used, and many of them are associated with the political standing, or the inheritance that was to be received by the children of Israel.
This “reckoning” in the Old Testament has to do with the reward the tribes received when God gave them their inheritance in the land that was to become Israel.
Since Israel was “reckoned” by their genealogies, and an inheritance is based on receiving a reward based upon one’s lineage — we see the use of “reckoning” is directly related to a recognition of whose family one belongs to.

 HELL
For, as in hell there is an absence of all that is good and desirable, so there is the convergence of all evils there; since all the effects of sin and of the curse take their place in it, after the last judgment.
The word used for hell (Matt 5:22), and in various other places of the New Testament, properly denotes the valley of Hinnom, the name being taken from the valley of the children of Hinnom, in which was Tophet (2 Kings 23:10), where idolaters offered their children to Moloch.
The terrors of hell, as well as the joys of heaven, are set before you, to stir you up to a cordial receiving of Him, with all His salvation; and to incline you to the way of faith and holiness, in which alone you can escape the everlasting fire.
