	Recopa Sudamericana - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The Recopa Sudamericana (English: South American Recup, Portuguese: Recopa Sul-Americana) is at stake in an annual football series (2 legs) between the reigning champions of the Copa Libertadores de América and Copa Sudamericana.
		Thus, CONMEBOL states that Nacional de Montevideo won the first Recopa of 1989, whereas the RSSSF refers to that championship as Recopa 1988.
		From 1989 to 1998, the match was played between the reigning champions of Copa Libertadores de America and Supercopa Sudamericana.

		I was able to advance to the final of the Copa Sudamericana where I would face River Plate in a two-legged final.
		I thought this little mini-rivalry was done until I learned I will be pitted against them in the summer of 2007 in the Recopa Sudamericana, a two-legged event that pits the winner of the Copa Sudamericana against the winner of the Copa Libertadores (similar to the UEFA Super Cup).
