Red Leicester Day was the preview event of an extraordinary space mission which gave the public a unique opportunity to witness the workings of a real-life space project.
Red Leicester Day was attended by The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Leicester, Mr Ramnik Kavia and the Lady Mayoress, Mrs Kavia who were joined by a host of British space experts and VIP's.
The programme began with the arrival by parachute of the Red Devils followed by the release of 3000 red balloons by children of a local infant school.

UEFA have announced that Leicester City's UEFA Cup first-round second-leg match with Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) in Belgrade will be brought forward by a week so it will not coincide with elections in Yugoslavia.
