Doyle is one of the finest examples of Woodland culture in the Republican River valley of southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas.

Two Community Development Block Grants totaling $540,000 were awarded to Red Willow County in 1998 by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development to be used for low interest loans to two large startup dairies near McCook.
A five member administrative board (One representative from the board of the Red Willow County Commissioners, one representative from the McCook City Council, two from the McCook Economic Development Corporation, and an accountant) reviews the loans which are then approved or disapproved by the Red Willow County Board of Commissioners.

Red Willow County commissioners and Assessor Sandra Kotschwar discussed the courthouse’s “overloaded, almost unsafe upstairs” during the commissioners’ regular meeting Monday morning.
Kotschwar said she would like to make a trip to Lincoln with records for the state archives, and suggested that perhaps the county’s other elected officials would like to send their records in the same trip.
