Arvin creates an enjoyably fast-paced, feel-good suspense story where all the good guys are tarnished, but in the end, with adept plotting and a little of his polished prose, they all shine up quite nicely.

The beginning was a little difficult but after I got into the flow of Arvin's writing, it grew on me. The main character, Jack Hammond's mantra may have been 'strip it down and let it go' but Arvin's writing style is more thoughtful and complex.
Arvin strength is in the powerful characters he creates rather than nail biting suspense.
No, this was my first Reed Arvin Novel.

While a good book on the business of music, in general, will always be helpful there is much that is unique to Christian music and that is what makes this book so valuable.
Subjects are discussed in an open and honest fashion, and the writers don't pull punches when it comes to potentially sensitive issues (such as whether one should even be seeking this sort of career in the first place).
Harold Best's chapter on the role of music in worship is stellar, and should even be read by all those who lead worship in a church-only setting (especially in today's worship-booming environment).

If you're looking for a new author to satisfy your thirst for top notch legal thrillers, then you'd be well advised to remember Reed Arvin's name.
I thoroughly enjoyed "The Wind in the Wheat" (Arvin's first novel) and I really like legal novels -- two of my favorite authors are John Grisham and William Bernhardt.
Reed Arvin has done a great job with this novel.
