		The reel is a (A style of dancing that originated among ordinary people (not in the royal courts)) folk dance type as well as the accompanying (Click link for more info and facts about dance tune type) dance tune type.
		All reels have the same structure, consisting largely of quaver movement with an accent on the first and third beats of the bar.
		Reels are popular in the folk music of South West (A division of the United Kingdom) England.

		One of the oldest dances enjoyed in the New World by the colonists (and it just might be the oldest) is the 'Virginia Reel'.
		Versions of the Virginal Reel can be seen in scores of movies depicting the colonial period in American history on through the great movement to settle the west and even movies depicting today's country settings.
		This is continued, each swinging the next in line until they reach the foot of the lines, where they swing each other half way around with right arms linked, so that the lady finished on her own side and the man on the men's side.

	Ceilidh Dance instructions
		This is normally danced to tunes in common time (32 bar and the dance is 64 bars long) but can be and is sometimes done to jigs (6/8 tempo).
		Both lines dance forwards, one line raising their hands in an arch and the other line dancing underneath, and dance on to meet the next set of three coming in the other direction.
