The Regal Record label was begun by David and Jules Braun in Linden, New Jersey in 1949.
Regal Records executive Jules Braun discusses the label and notes that total sales are up 22 per cent and most of that increase is in the R and B field.
So Regal was gone but certainly not forgotten as long as lovers of this music seek out some of the big sellers of the early fifties that had a lot to do with the growing popularity of the music.

Regal's Independent master numbers started at 5001, and the series was destined to become one of the longest-running in recording history, remaining in use by a string of successors into the 1940s, long after both Regal and Independent had ceased to exist.

One was a split single on Deadbeat Records with simian rockers The Primate 5, with whom the band shared a practice space.
Apparently the record was supposed to be two Joan Jett covers, but somehow this was lost in the communication.
After it all was over, the band surely had a great run: they toured Japan, were loved by many, released records on a bunch of great labels, launched Rip Off Records, got to play shows with their idols, and were in demand for records and shows on a pretty consistent basis.

In 1969, he recorded his fourth album, The Source, for Atlantic Records, and in 1975, he returned to Savoy for his fifth LP, Can't We Begin Again.
In 1993, Rhino Records delved into the Atlantic Records archives to assemble Lost and Found, containing some unreleased material from sessions in 1972; the album reached number 14 in the jazz charts.

On December 15, 2005, Apple Records, the record label representing The Beatles, launched a suit against EMI for non-payment of royalties.
An EMI spokesman noted that audits of record label accounts are not unusual, confirming at least two hundred such audits have been performed, but that they rarely result in legal action[1].
