The question with this episode is why no one from the 31st century, namely Daniels or one if his colleagues, bothered to track down and salvage the vessel earlier, to save its pilot and to avoid the past incursion in the first place.
We also learn in the episode that the Sphere Builders, knowing that they would be defeated by the Federation in the 26th century, told the Xindi that people from Earth would destroy their homeworld.
ENT: E2 The basic theme of this episode is the classic predestination paradox, as it has been featured a couple of times before on Star Trek, the most similar parallel being in DS9: "Children of Time".

Ent is capable of realtime subspace communication with (probably) Earth, but reception is improved with a "subspace amplifier" (presumably an uncrewed predecessor to the relay station seen in TNG:"Aquiel").

The good episodes outnumber the bad, and some of them were VERY good, right up there with the best of all the other series.
I'd rather not see her spend another episode on the brink of sobbing, as she was in 'The Seventh.' Nothing should be that traumatic to a Vulcan – any Vulcan.
Sato: Unfortunately, Hoshi's big episode for the season was the pointless 'Vanishing Point.' Not only was the episode just plain silly, it also took the character backwards, to the screaming-like-a-twelve-year-old Ensign we saw in the beginning of the series.

This is confirmed in the ENT episode "Regeneration".
The word "Borg" was not mentioned in the ENT episode, but that was obviously nothing more but a pathetic attempt to pacify the fans just as in the case of the Ferengi in "Acquisition".

Like the Halloween episode where Bart can control everything happening in Springfield and he makes Krusty work nonstop, without sleep -- and Krusty says, "All thanks to one little boy WHO WON'T LET ME STOP!" The season 2 episode "A Night in Sickbay" was a comedy episode widely derided by critics and Trekkers, although it nonetheless received a Hugo Award nomination and is often cited by the cast as one of their favorite episodes.
The episode was controversial both with fans who were unhappy that a 'family' show was airing issues surrounding homosexuality, and with those who felt that the producers did not go far enough with the allegory (the episode does not explicitly mention HIV or AIDS).

Now here's the sort of episode that suggests the true potential of Enterprise as a series -- an episode that takes every correct turn where it could've compromised itself by taking the safer road where human values automatically trump all else.
The episode begins on a refreshing note: first contact with a friendly race of explorers called the Vissians, who for once seem like real space travelers rather than artificial constructs for the sake of conflict.
One of the pleasures I had during this episode was seeing how the show and I were constantly on the same wavelength.

The Vulcan ambassador displays obvious anger in the teaser, and to a lesser extent the Vulcan captain does later in the episode as well.
It seems to be a combination of bad writing and bad acting; in the case of the latter, someone needs to make sure that all "Vulcan actors," including Jolene Blalock, are subjected to tape loops of Tuvok and Spock.

If it wasn't something that occurred often in the first season, it wouldn't bother me and it might worked in "Regeneration." I tend to think that it doesn't matter whether the Borg have encountered an individual species before; unless they're really powerful (like Species 8472) they'll be assimilated.
I think, without a predestination paradox, "Regeneration" [ENT] comes across as a great episode filled with tense action, big moral decisions and lots of fun shooting and frowning.
It was another "They didn't say they were Ferengi so it was okay!" episode, but I found it more acceptable because it was soooo funny in some places that the laugher masked the destruction of continuity.

The overall execution was good, and about the only nitpick I had with the episode was that I thought the warp factor they were attemping to break was a bit too low given that they seemed to have near warp 2 frieghters and vessels in service for quite some time.

Like most episodes of Enterprise, there is no real tension and almost no plot to speak of.
The alien species that populate the Expanse look like little more than bad Farscape knock offs – they look weird but still way too conventional to be truly unique (as many of Farscape's aliens were) but too strange to buy any sort of credibility with the audience.
About the time I saw one of the main alien bad guys in this episode talking to the Enterprise using an old style hanging studio mic, I knew that this "bold new direction" for the series was really just an exercise in digging the same hole but putting a different facade on the operation.
