Several subsidiary labels were started over the years: Canaan Records in the sixties, Myrrh Records and DaySpring Records in the seventies, Rejoice Records in the eighties.
From 1984 until 1990 Word Records was distributed by AandM Records, afterwards distribution switched to Epic Records.
Word Records was founded in 1951 by Jarrell McCracken, who at the time was a young sportscaster for a Waco, Texas radio station.

The programme follows 'the Church year' from Advent ('Hills of the north, rejoice', which gives the disc its title), though Christmas ('O little town of Bethlehem' set by Walford Davies), Easter ('When I survey the wondrous Cross') to Harvest ('We plough the fields and scatter') and All Saints ('For all the saints').

RH: Naturally, when a musician plays a concert or does a recording, his heart and soul - if he's for real - is in it, so when he reads critical things of what he's trying to do, it can affect him.
The idea is that someone will frequently make a MIDI recording of their piano practice, and use a tool similar to Blogger to upload it to their web site with a brief description.
An example where this would be very useful is my piano practice recordings page, which is cumbersome to maintain.
