Neil and Chris have acknowledged this contrast, stating that they had "decided to do a mega dance-pop album." It was also the first of their albums in which they themselves served as the main producers.
The public similarly recognized its quality: it proved to be the Boys' first (and only) U.K #1 album, while in the U.S. it became their second-highest-charting album ever.
The only full-fledged "vocal" track on Relentless, this song also boasts one of the most ingenious lyrical concepts in the PSB corpus.

GIGWISE.com KT Tunstall – 'Eye To The Telescope' (Relentless Records) Released 13/12/04
KT Tunstall has produced an album for those who like a bit of background music at their dinner parties, it might even do quite well in the mainstream chart but it’s quite an insult to anyone who’s record collection doesn’t include Ronan Keating.
Buy it when you’re popping out to get the new Dido single and the Christmas Enya album or just expect to hear it when you are on hold to a life-draining big business corporation.
From the smouldering look given by a salon tousled Tunstall on the album cover to the quite frankly dull lyrical content, the record just screams easy-listening.

Pentagram : Relentless - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
Relentless is a well-chosen name for Pentagram's belated first album, as it was only through relentless determination that vocalist Bobby Liebling -- a fixture of D.C.'s club scene since the early '70s -- managed to persist long enough to see its 1985 release.
A raw, untainted slab of pure doom metal, Relentless is a time tunnel straight to heavy metal's very inception at the hands of Black Sabbath -- largely thanks to its lo-fi recording, ironically.
And though it is hampered by the usual sonic limitations you'd expect from an independent recording, from a musical standpoint, the album more than lives up to pent-up expectations.

Overall, Relentless is a remarkable album, rescuing the band from a steady musical decline.
Some highlights are "Kill the Sunshine," written in part by Brian Johnson of AC/DC, and the blues ballad "Lend Me a Hand." The latter is one of the quieter moments on the album despite its intense chorus.
The self-titled record is still the best of the catalog, but Relentless ranks a solid second.

The content and lyrics led the Very to be called their "coming out album" since, despite widespread rumours almost a decade, it was during this time that Neil Tennant had publicly announced his homosexuality.
Very was rereleased in 2001 (as were most of the group's albums up to that point) as Very/Further Listening 1992-1994.
Very Relentless was similarly unique, with the two CDs housed in card sleeves (Very in orange and Relentless in pink) with both of these housed in an outer rubber case with raised bumps.

But the biggest curse for RELENTLESS has no doubt been the endless army of companies and individuals that have bootlegged and otherwise illegally duplicated and sold the VILLAIN album for illegitimate gain.
VILLAIN soon re-entered into the studio to cut another four tracks, which, with the three already in the can, were to be their debut album.

That said, "Relentless" is as exciting an album as Walter has ever produced.
Recorded over two nights in front of admiring Dutch crowd, Walter took a big chance, by premiering a whole album of new material at a live gig.
Where "Life In The Jungle" was a timely reminder of where it all started for Walter in terms of a solo career, "Relentless" is as close as you are going to get to the mature musician and song-writer.

Relentless, available only as a "bonus" disc accompanying a special edition of Very, is thought of by many as "the Chris album" since it consists primarily of instrumentals (or near-instrumentals) in a "techno" or "trance" vein.
The only full-fledged "vocal" track on Relentless, this song also boasts one of the most ingenious lyrical concepts in the PSB corpus.

The album is relentless in its pursuit of being a masterpiece.
While this album is not the heaviest the band has released, it is far from the worst.
As far as ballads go, this album has some good ones with 'Goodbye my friend' which I really find the chorus infectious, 'I've found' which is very light and melodic, and 'There was a time' which isn't necessarily a ballad in the pure sense, but is very cool and another favorite.

Very Relentless (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Very Relentless is a limited edition 2-disc set of the album Very by the UK electronic music duo Pet Shop Boys.
The second disc, Relentless, contains music which can be seen as something of an experiment by the group, delving for the first time (and arguably the last time of any significance) into ambient techno.
The first disc of Very Relentless is identical to the widely released Very.

Everything else about the album is wonderfully unpleasant — the relentless drumming, the blistering guitar runs, the vicious vocals — it is all perfectly in place for a massive attack.
However, the material on this album is not restful at all, and this is as it should be.
I have blamed the nagging feeling that the album is flawed on the short running time.

 Yngwie Malmsteen - Alchemy
It was only after a couple of months of listening to Alchemy that I overlooked the cheesy melodrama of the vocals, and found that their relentless style gave the album great escapism qualities, whereby I found my self being lost in Yngwie's world of slayers, dragons, and mage.
This album is melodramatic, yet that is exactly what it aims to be: a dramatic study of medi-evil warfare, witchcraft, epidemics, religion, and history.
This is a suitable conclusion to the album, with a lot of power and a twisted quality akin the deterioration of a human mind, as indicated by the song name.

 Weld by Neil Young CD
Though rather than just being overtly relentless there is enough on this double album to keep the listener interested including a blistering electric version of "Crime In The City" from the Freedom album and an excellent version of "Cinnamon Girl" which is a Neil and Crazy Horse classic, and again is well performed.
Weld remains a good live album on a tour which became so very loud it made Neil go back to doing some country music ( Harvest Moon) and wind down the volume for a while.
Other highlights include the atmospheric and hypnotic "Like A Hurricane" which outstrips the previous live version on the Live Rust album in sheer power and a song which is always welcomed on a live release with that big looping riff being pumped out by the Crazy Horse as Young blazes away on his Les Paul.

His performance on this album is as varied as it is powerful, and Slipknot’s sound clearly benefits from his presence.
What Slipknot do is basically to blend the relentless percussive attack and cutting-edge guitar riffs of death/black metal with atmospheric and sometimes paranoia-inducing samples, creating what I like to call industrial death metal (copyright BB 2002).

Def Leppard -- Music By Def Leppard & MP3 Downloads, CDs, DVDs - music.
The resulting album, 1983's Pyromania, became an unexpected blockbuster, due not only to Def Leppard's skillful, melodic metal, but also to MTV's relentless airing of "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages." Pyromania went on to sell 10 million copies, establishing Def Leppard as one of the most popular bands in the world.
High N' Dry followed in 1981, and it became the group's first platinum album in the U.S., thanks to MTV's strong rotation of "Bringin' on the Heartbreak." MTV would be vital to the band's success in the '80s.
Def Leppard finally completed its fourth album, now titled Hysteria, early in 1987, releasing it that spring to lukewarm reviews; many critics felt that the album compromised Leppard's metal roots for sweet pop flourishes.

After their great 1995 Roadrunner album "Demanufacture" the band were on the verge of a major breakthrough that would catapult them to the next level, but, perharps sensing this, their songwriting and direction took a wrong turn with the "Obsolete" and "Digimortal" albums, which were basically uninspired affairs with a more "accessible" sound.
All of the elements that made Fear Factory such a great band are back: the relentless machine-like drumming, the mixed vocals, the intensity and great, memorable songs, paired with some new-found anger, undoubtely inspired by the band's dealings with their former label Roadrunner.
Fear Factory have something prove, and they certainly sound like they do, and we can thank them for providing the fans with an awesome album.

Amazon.co.uk: Encore: Parental Advisory [Explicit Lyrics]: Music
Encore is a good song, as is Never Enough, and also Crazy In Love, but One Shot Two Shot feels like a reject from D12 World, itself a disappointing album, and not a patch on Devil's Night.
The key to understanding Encore is through its pursuit of sheer offensiveness for offence's sake, be it the comic accent on "Ass Like That", or the relentless gay jibes of "Rain Man" – all of which seem to be more about prodding the hornet's nest of controversy that any genuine prejudice.
this album has a mix of everything in there, from more serious songs like spend some time, like toy soldiers to outragious songs such as ass like that, big weenie, my 1st single and rain man (that has to be the funniest song ever).

LEFT OFF THE DIAL - Album Reviews - Electric: Flying Machines
Maybe it is Chicago’s hothouse isolation that creates its vibrancy, maybe it is Chicagoans’ relentless need to overcome their second cityness, or maybe it is just a historical accident that so many great indie rock musicians and innovators call or have called Chicago their home.
I found myself interested from the first ringing notes of the first song until the ringing climax at the end of the album.
Electric, on the other hand, keep their songs fairly simple musically, yet manage to evoke a subtlety of impression that most bands could only hope for.

The album is on a good deal slower, the structure is more traditional and sane, and is a lot deeper in tone, but overall feels less pounding and much less relentless.

This the the Deicide album I most listen to because of the sheer brutality and catchy song structures.
