		Remaster (and its derivations, frequently found in the phrases digitally remastered or digital remastering) is a word and concept that emerged out of the digital age, although it had existed before then.
		A couple of the reasons for remastering engineers to remix elements of a recording include a first-time stereo mix of a particular song where previous releases were only in mono and/or fake stereo (a.k.a.

	The Frida Remasters

		The remastering was done by the brain behind Boston, Tom Scholz.
		The original plans were to release the albums with never before released bonus tracks but Scholz quickly squashed the plans due to the bonus tracks not being of good enough quality.
		The result is one of the most impressive remastering jobs ever done.

		If you've been following along with the news regarding the Sony Legacy remasters of Boston and Don't Look Back, you've probably heard that Sony Legacy decided to remaster those albums and that Tom Scholz found out and had his manager convince Sony to hold off on releasing them so that he could do them better.
		Now the releases are on hold, but it turns out that the remasters have been released in Canada already.
		Sony wasn't supposed to release these remasters, but it looks like a limited number of copies made their way off the presses and some of them shipped out to store shelves for April 4, which was the original release date.

		Neil Aspinall, the managing director of the Beatles' company Apple, revealed that the group is making plans to digitally remaster its back catalogue.
