So, you lay Remi Moses in the first race at Thurles.
If Remi Moses loses like he’s supposed to then you get to keep the stakes which amounted to €140.
However, if Remi Moses does the unthinkable and wins again, not only do you feel bad for deserting your horse, you also lose your liability which was the €140 x3=€420.

It was Remi's injuries, alongside those of McGrath, Coppell, Robson, Whiteside, Webb et al that so hindered United's quest for the title in the 80s.
Probably Remi's only claim to fame is that he became the first fl player to score for United, and fans should have seen so many more than the twelve he mustered before the end.
Moses was christened by his Old Trafford colleagues with the affectionate nickname of 'Dogshit'.

Remi Moses - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Remi Moses born November 14, 1960 in Manchester was a English football player whose main position was as a defensive midfielder.
Remi was transferred from West Bromwich Albion in 1981 to Manchester United for £500k, an expensive transfer fee at that time.
Although Remi helped United win the 1983 and 1985 F.A. Cup's, injuries kept him out of the team for long periods of time and he retired from the game in 1988 with 12 goals.

As a schoolboy Remi Moses won County honours, appearing in the semi-final of the English Schools Shield with Manchester Schoolboys.
Then during 1984-85 he was initially playing so well that he earned selection for the England team, but injury cruelly forced a withdrawal from the squad and also cost him a place in the 1985 FA Cup final triumph.
Moses was out for virtually all of the following term, and a succession of ankle injuries, operations and attempted comebacks eventually led him to retire on specialists' advice, as he faced the prospect of irreparable damage to the joint by continuing.

In the practice of medicine, at least here in the United States, when a patient is diagnosed with a serous medical illness, like cancer, and he/she, for whatever reason, refuses treatment, we don’t get into an endless argument with him/her.
My next advice to Remi is that he should not base his relationship with God, for good or bad, on the conduct and character of Christians.
Moses, whom God called the meekest man in all the earth, yielded to anger in a brief moment and twice struck a rock he was told to simply speak to.

Man United Pies: United blasts from the past – No10 Remi Moses
Remi Moses was an enormously popular player with United fans under the Ron Atkinson era.
Moses made his debut in September 1981 in a 1-0 win over Swansea – a game most notable for being one of those rare matches in which notoriously goal-shy striker Garry Birtles actually managed to bang one in the net.
A tenacious midfield player, Moses made 188 appearances for the Reds and scored 12 goals in his seven years at Old Trafford before his career was cut short by injury.

You don't really have to understand *why* there are two sets of L.C. (Mexican and Finnish), or the trip from Mexico to Coney Island, or their old manager Vladimir appearing there (claiming to be some reincarnation of Moses).
Other amusing bits include the flight to Europe on a prop plane with Moses on the wing holding the nose of the Statue of Liberty, the L.C. playing one song at a Bingo place in France - getting paid in blank Bingo cards and one of them immediately getting "bingo".
There are a number of biblical allusions: Moses walking on water across a pool; Moses and Jeremiah trading quotes, some real ("never cook a kid in his mother's milk", others faux ("do not eat any disgusting thing"); and Moses getting water from a rock (by drilling it with a jackhammer) are just a few.
