The Remote Part starts out fine enough for what it is, but as the album progresses it wanes in intensity, intelligence, and purpose.
Trudging through The Remote Part has been a chore for me. After owning the album for months now, I’ve only recently been able to concentrate for enough time to listen to the whole album.
The Remote Part on the other hand is flawed—certainly it sounds good, but it also is absolutely derivative of every other damn “indie” rock artist out there.

Punknews.org Idlewild - The Remote Part
Album closer 'In Remote Part/ Scottish Fiction' is another contender for Idlewild's best song and is easily one of the best songs I have ever, ever had the pleasure of hearing.
Anyway, The Remote Part is quite simply the best album to EVER come out of Scotland.
This album is a must have for true lovers of music.

 Idlewild - The Remote Part - openingbands.com
"The Remote Part" is a consistent album, having been a major success Europe, spawning four singles; "You Held the World in Your Arms," "Modern Way of Letting Go," "American English," and "Live in a Hiding Place;" with few weak points.
On Idlewild's third album, The Remote Part, they display a comprehension of what it takes to make a distinctive, heartfelt album.
The Remote Part is full of earnest lyrics and hummable melodies, but is equally driven by its sometimes biting and sometimes smooth guitars.

The Remote Part is the finest rock album released so far this year.
Other songs that stand out are, 'Live in a hiding Place' and the last song on the album 'The Remote Part' which suitably closes the album.
The Remote Part erupts into the melodic cacophony of guitars, synth and strings that is You Held the World in Your Arms - the first single and a blistering, standout, track.

M2M - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The duo produced 2 albums, Shades of Purple and The Big Room, and a Greatest Hits (post-humous decision by record label) under the band name M2M and a Norweigian Children's album under their respective names (informally "Hubba Bubba").
M2M is used in telemetry, data collection, remote control, robotics, remote monitoring, status tracking, road traffic control, offsite diagnostics and maintenance, security systems, logistic services, fleet management, and telemedicine.
An example of M2M technology might be a set of devices that monitor traffic in a city and communicate the information to the city's traffic lights in order to regulate the flow of traffic.

The Remote Part - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Remote Part released 2002 (see 2002 in music) is the fourth album by Scottish band Idlewild.
Its much more commercial sound (when compared to previous releases) only ever aided it in becoming Idlewild's most successful album sales-wise yet.

 Idlewild - The Remote Part
"In Remote Part/Scottish Fiction" is the last and strangest song on the album, with the second half of the lyrics not being sung by Idlewild at all, but rather being spoken by Scottish poet Edwin Morgan.
The Remote Part, Idlewild's 2003 release, is as visually aesthetic as a Picasso.
After listening to this album I wanted to frame it and hang it in my living room.

Idlewild - The Remote Part (Parlophone) - Drawer B Review
The Remote Part is an underdog for album of the year, especially in America where Idlewild has yet to make much of an impression, but, for those in the know, this is the shit.
While The Remote Part lacks its predecessor’s youthful naivete and punkish spark, it reveals Idlewild flexing its vastly superior songwriting muscles.
The Remote Part marches against the grain on several levels.

Idlewild: The Remote Part: Pitchfork Review
The Remote Part might strip away a lot of the instrumental variety of their last take-home product, 100 Broken Windows, but even that album was pretty kiddie-pool shallow when it came to experimentalism.
The Remote Part still makes it up to the sunny side of 5.0, however, if only because a good third of the album has been stuck in my head throughout the rigorous Mitchum listening analysis.
Mainstream listening helmet or no, I have to admit that The Remote Part contains a lot of potential alt-rock hits, to these ears.

InternetEd Reviews: Idlewild- The Remote Part
Anyway, despite the hit-and-miss poetic lyrical attempts, Idlewild’s The Remote Part is a good rock album driven by a very welcome multitude of guitar hooks.
A constant barrage of guitar hooks saves the otherwise vocally bland “Stay The Same”, and “In Remote Part/Scottish Fiction” is a quirky alt-rock ballad with soft drumming and acoustic guitar playing (as well as a verse by poet Edwin Morgan) that rounds out the album.
There are traces of big name influences like U2 and R.E.M. from time to time on The Remote Part, but overall Idlewild sticks to their own semi-new wave inspired sound.

To be honest there really isn't a bad track on the album this is another one of those album that you can put down the remote control and just kick back with a cool one and enjoy the tunes without having to worry about tonnes of filler getting in the way of a good time.
Another great track on the album is Wet Velvet which at first seems like it maybe taking a bit of a shot at Alannah Myles' Black Velvet but none the less the track can stand on it's own and what a killer intro!
Daisy Mae is another fantastic track off the album and one of my favorites.

Tangerine Dream - Exit - NuEra Entertainment
The subject of the progamme was flight, and, for me, "Exit" was the album that helped my long love of TD music take flight. The pace in the tracks varies from fast highway-type stuff, as shown in "Network 23", to the hypnotically rhythmic "Remote Viewing".
Its first track, "Kiev Mission" (which the label misspelled on the album), opens with explosions, sirenlike wails, and then, against a stark sonic backdrop, a whispered plea (a female voice speaking Russian) to end the threat of a "limited" nuclear war, a genuine and much-discussed danger at the time.
Myself, I think this is the 2nd or 3rd weakest album from their years at Virgin reconrds (74-83).

 Il Postino
The album's first side features poetry readings in a unique blend with music from the film directed by Michael Radford, director of THE POSTMAN (IL POSTINO), while the second side is devoted to Luis Bacalov's rich and melodic motion picture score.
The story was inspired by an incident in the life of Pablo Neruda, who was forced into exile and granted sanctuary by the Italian government on a remote island off the southern coast of Italy.

Compare Prices and Read Reviews on Walk On - Boston at Epinions.com
As for the rest of the album, it doesn't deviate from course much, the only 'real' ballad is 'Living For You', which is a very good song and the only one off of this album to garner any remote hint of radio airplay.
Boston's 4th album, Walk On, would take even longer to complete, a full 8 years, and by that time Tom Scholz, guitarist, keyboardist, and producer, was the only man left from the original lineup, even golden-voiced vocalist Brad Delp lost paitence.
But these albums are quite different, 'Amanda' set the stage for an album full of softer, introspective ballads, and 'I Need Your Love' delievers foresight into an album full of driving, up-beat rock that tries it's darndest to be reminiscent of Boston's first 2 albums.

 Brainwashed - Home
Performed live, this album sounds more like a ritual than a product; it is a distinct and meditative experience that pounds down the doors of the visceral and floods the extended world with a pure, white light.
Although Sleep made at least one epic-length stoner metal anthem, Om tries to jump right for primordial spiritual minimalism, composing albums from 20 minute undulant bass and drum dirges, ridden by bassist Al Cisneros’ chant-singing of nonsense adjectives and Tolkienian compounds that are luckily not loud enough in the mix to rise into meaning.
Michael Wells has been releasing music for two decades, first with Lee Newman under the guises of Greater Than One, Tricky Disco, GTO, Church of Extacy, and Technohead; and more recently as Signs of Chaos, S.O.L.O., and The Man. In 2004, he relocated to a remote area of Spain but continues to record music.

Miasma is faster, tighter and more noticeably hardcore/metalcore free than its overrated predecessor Unhallowed, but it will still be a target of the backlashers determined to hate everything that has even a remote European influence.
“Novelty Crosses” initially hints at the album's first and needed mid paced respite, but the slower tempo is short-lived as BDM again careen into a blistering pace, but the artfully penned hangover track “Dave Goes to Hollywood” actually displays some control and restraint in larger quantities.
Trevor Strnad is serviceable delivering his feverish screams and occasional bellows, but he really isn’t a dominating front man and bassist David Lock is barely part of BDM’s sound, as the guitars carry the album.
