The Renault Medallion (25 in Europe) sedan and wagon was sold from 1987 to 1989 through Jeep-Eagle dealerships.
Renaults most recent models are well known for their safety, all but 4 of the current models have achieved the maximum 5-star rating by the EuroNCAP crash-test assessment programme.

I bought an '85 Renault sport wagon and pulled the tranny out to discover it was the wrong one.
As far as I remember all four cylinder Medallion used the NG9 transaxle and all the V6 were automatic and used some type of ZF automatic transaxle; The NG9 was also used on the Renault Fuego and it is too small for any V8 application.
In any case the only difference between the Medallion and the Fuego transaxles was the bell housing otherwise they were the same, they may had different designations, NG6, NG3, etc but all the NG are too small, translation, NG = no good, you will need a 369 or UN1 transaxle.

lol, no, nothing like that, but I've seen a few eagle medallions still on the road, the rest i'm sure are rusting in some junkyards somewhere.
To strengthen anything in the box means they would have had to remanufacture parts which I believe they dont have the facilites to do, eg: to make a strenghtend c/p means new crownwheel and secondary shaft - a major undertaking.
You may well find what they did was to ask Renault to provide the boxes with different ratios (which they did) and retain the larger bearing of the 369 in the newer case, and revise gearset teeth size retaining ratio - which was done with 4th gear on the later boxes.
