		Renault claims a combined cycle consumption of 24.6mpg with emissions of 275 grammes per kilometre of CO2, with 0 to 62 mph in 8.3 seconds.

		Talking about the hatchback, you may notice that its wrap-around rear window resembles the lovely Renault 25, but what you might not notice is that the tailgate is now made of composite in order to reduce weight, or compensate the extra weight of the big glass window.

		I have been driving the Vel Satis 2.2Dci for two years now, chosen as a company vehicle.
		Front disc and pads twice, exhaust replaced, the gearbox replaced, rear disc and pads replaced and a new master clutch cylinder (this resulted in three breakdowns which needed recovery when the dealer didn't do the job properly).
		All of this was covered without quibble by the 3 year warranty and Renault assist worked well, but 4 breakdowns and 20 days off the road in 2 years is unacceptable in a flagship model.
