Replicator (Stargate) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Replicators are driven solely by their desire to create more of themselves, and their Inter-Galactic storm of conquest is based solely upon this desire.
When the citizens of her world became aware of the capabilities of the Replicators, they were alarmed and claimed she was "built wrong." Out of fear of being destroyed, she instructed her toys to carry out the primary missions of self-preservation (of herself and them) and replication.
The human-form Replicators instead prefer to use either their massive strength, or restructure their hand into a sword with which to impale their foes; this is how both the System Lord Yu and Daniel Jackson were killed by RepliCarter.

On a side note, if the Replicators appear a lot more in season 9, we might see a Nox-Replicator confrontation assuming the Nox come out of their pacifist mode.
We don't know how many colonies the Nox have in the MW but they'd likely be the next step for the Replicators because Replicarter has Carter's memories and knows the location of the Nox colony and would likely swarm in on it to acquire the advanced tech.
I think despite Replicator Carter developed the cipher the ancient weapon will still be the key to defeating them because at least SG-1 and the Asgard have an idea of where to start on preparing a strategy to defeating the Replicators.
