Reporting mark - Encyclopedia, History, Geography and Biography
An AAR reporting mark is a sequence of two to four letters that uniquely identifies the owner of a piece of railroad rolling stock.
Marks that end in X are assigned to rail car owners that are not common carrier railroads themselves (typically these are private car owners, leasing companies or railroad museums).
Marks that end in Z are assigned to trailer owners/operators for use on equipment that does not have flanged wheels but that will be used on North American railroads in intermodal service.

Reporting mark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
When a new reporting mark is created, its first letter is selected to be the same as the first letter of the applying company's name; the remaining letters in a reporting mark are generally derived from the applying company's initials.
As companies are merged, the companies' reporting marks are normally transferred to the resultant companies along with the original companies' trademarks and logos.
The reporting marks that were assigned to Chicago and North Western Railway (CNW), for example, are now assigned to UP which purchased CNW in the 1990s.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910), better known by his pen name Mark Twain, was a famous American humorist, novelist, writer and lecturer.
Twain was a master at rendering colloquial speech, and helped to create and popularize a distinctive American literature, built on American themes and language.
Twain himself would probably be amused by these attempts; in 1885, when a library in Massachusetts banned the book, he wrote to his publisher, "They have expelled Huck from their library as 'trash suitable only for the slums'.

Commentary: On Reporting by Mark BvS Monsky- The Digital Journalist
In my time as a news boss at varying levels, I did it a little differently, but with the same concept of "passing it on." I once sent a young female reporter back to a murder crime scene FIVE times until she could answer all the questions.
My thought was that J-School should be reserved for young reporters who have had three-to-five years of real experience; and who have shown willingness to put in the 18 hour/7 day work to make their story better.
He or she won't be quite so ready to swallow the bull and nonsense passed out at "news conferences." Remember that "allegedly" really is something more than a word to cover a lawyer's ass.
