		The requinto guitar or simply "requinto" teams up with the classical guitar and either the contrabass or guitarron to form the "trio romantico" - a group in which the instruments are tuned in E (classical and contra) and A (requinto and guitarron).
		By contrast, Dr Hiroki Niibori's conception of the guitar orchestra - the one hago uses - is one in which the instruments are tuned in E (classical and contra) or B (alto and bass).
		The requinto, like the alto, exists in several guises, but the most commonly used in Guitar Orchestra is the 6-string requinto with a 535mm scale tuned A D G C E A - more on the next page.

		The tuning is (low to high) A D G C E A. You may notice that the four highest strings are the same notes as a soprano ukulele.

	The quart guitar and quart bass guitar
		The Quart Guitar is tuned four notes up - that makes it the same pitch as the requinto.
		Like the requinto, the quart is short-scale, but usually with a different scale length to the requinto - a figure of 480mm is often quoted.
		The longer scale length requires thinner strings, leading to a bright sound.
