"RIM's net subscriber growth rate (a key indicator of organic growth) accelerated for the first time in 10 quarters, driven by positive reception of consumer-centric Pearl, which we see as a sign that RIM has successfully expanded its addressable market beyond enterprise to consumers," Neff wrote in a note to investors.
Goldman Sachs analyst Brantley Thompson wrote in a research note that he expected the strong subscriber growth to continue, both among business users and in the relatively untapped consumer segment, in the U.S. and overseas.
