Since 1991, the commuter rail station has been built (the new MBTA station in Grafton on Route 30), and approximately 100 of the 149 acres for development has been sold for light industrial and commercial development (also in Grafton).
Their effort resulted in the creation of a Master Plan, published in 1991, which called for the property to be divided into 97 acres of open space, 33 acres of agricultural land protected, 18 acres protecting an existing cemetery, 13 acres for a new commuter rail station, and 149 acres for commercial/industrial development.
The parcel’s200-plus acres of forests, fields, steams, wetlands, and upland habitats connect through a corridor of other protected lands that reach deep into Westborough and the protected lands surrounding the SuAsCo Reservoir, headwaters to the Assabet River.

On the ladder rail between the Reservoir Carhouse, and Reservoir Station on the Riverside Line, posing next to some Type 7s awaiting the call to duty.
The MBTA has been running Beacon Street service with solely LRVs for some time now, and this seems to show that the MBTA has enough faith in the modified cars that they will trust them to provide base service on at least one route.
The other cars were, 3415, 3416, and 3421, and a quick check of the MBTA LRV inventory will show that all four of these cars have survived to this point - though 3418 and 3421 were not rehabbed, and are presently out of service.
