West Point Reservoir is a 25,900-acre mainstream Chattahoochee River impoundment located just north of I-85, an hour southwest of Atlanta.
Although most of West Point Reservoir is in Georgia, fishing licenses from Alabama and Georgia are valid, "with the exception of that portion of West Point Reservoir lying upstream (north) of Georgia Highway 109 bridge on the Chattahoochee River arm of said reservoir."
Other species of interest to West Point Reservoir anglers are hybrid striped bass, white bass, fl crappie, channel catfish, bluegill, and redbreast sunfish.

These observations demonstrate a long lived history of CO leakage from the reservoir that was restricted to up-dip fault parallel flow in the footwall.
Ultimately, this research will aim to understand the factors causing the reservoir to leak, define the migration pathways of CO from reservoir to surface and quantify the leakage rates of CO from the reservoir through time.
