	Resident Evil (film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Resident Evil 1, Resident Evil: Ground Zero, and Resident Evil: Genesis) is a film adaptation based upon Capcom's survival horror series Resident Evil.
		The movie takes place in an alternate universe to the games and would occur before the first Resident Evil game if it were included in that timeline.
		The movie borrows a plot element from Resident Evil 2 in which Leon and Claire have to escape the underground labs by taking the train and have a showdown with a large creature in the back of the car.

		On the Resident Evil 2 CD case, it stated that there would be an upcoming Resident Evil movie, and if you bought the game, you were offered the chance to win a walk-on part in the Resident Evil movie.
		And Romero wasn’t even going to call the movie “Resident Evil.” He was supposedly going to call the movie “S.T.A.R.S.” Although Romero has been fired from the production of the Resident Evil script, he has been kept as director of the movie, which I think was a pretty damn-good move.
		The Resident Evil movie is due out sometime in 2001 and will more than likely carry and “R” rating and Capcom has supposedly said that they will hire “big names” to play the S.T.A.R.S members, and any other characters that might be in the film.

		Our approach to making "Resident Evil" into the movie, we approached the film as if it were another "Resident Evil" game and instead of going to the store to buy it on disc, you went to the theater to go and see it.
		I think the hardest scene in the movie to shoot was where the characters were trapped in an access tunnel which has a lot of pipes hanging from the ceiling.

		More than anything, what you get is a quick 90-minute movie with a finale so faithful to the games, so dedicated to the hardcore gamers, and so fun to watch, that it makes that entire 7 year wait that we all endured for this film well worth the while.
