The Revenge-class battleships were five battleships of the Royal Navy, ordered as World War I loomed on the horizon, and launched in 1914–1916.
The demise of the Revenge class and others soon after the war showed the advent of the aircraft-carrier as the new Queen of the Seas; though it must be said, the contribution the dreadnoughts made to the Royal Navy's history was immense.

 Resolution class submarine
The Resolution class submarines were the first British strategic ballistic missile submarines, carrying the Polaris missile.
The design was a modification of the Valiant Class Fleet Submarine[?], but greatly extended to incorporate the missile compartment between the fin and the nuclear reactor.
The class were part of the 10th Submarine Squadron, all based at Faslane[?] Naval Base, Scotland.

 THE COURBET CLASS
The Normandie class of battleships were cancelled by the Washington Naval Limitations Treaty.  Only one ships of this line was built, the Bearn, but it served as an unsuccessful aircraft carrier.
The Richelieu class of battleships was the most powerful class of French battleships built.  Only one of these ships managed to escape the fall of France and exact revenge upon its enemies.
The Alsace class of battleships were, unfortunately, never built by the French.  These ships were to have been more heavily armed and armored than the Richelieu class.  But with the Germans taking over France, all plans to build this ship were halted.

Three of the class were struck by submarine torpedo's during the war but only the Royal Oak, hit by at least two, was sunk.
This class of five reverted to a smaller 14-in calibre main battery because the Londen Navel Conference of 1936 limited the standard displacement of individual battleships to 35,000 tons.
First of this class, Triton, was completed in October 1937 and, while only 2 more had been completed by the outbreak of war, numbers thereafter rapidly increased.

Whilst the Queen Elizabeth class were a special class these ships were the follow on to the Iron Duke class as a "bog standard" ship for the battle line.
The armament was the same as the Queen Elizabeth class although the 6 inch guns were mounted further back.
Revenge and Resolution were also fitted with bulges in 19-17 and the rest of the class post war.

The Revenge was commissioned at Portsmouth in January 1896 to fly the flag of Rear-Admiral A T Dale, commanding the Special Flying Squadron.
