 Doom On
In 2003 Reverend Bizarre released "Harbinger of Metal", and while expectations were high for the follow up to their lumbering masterpiece "In The Rectory of The Bizarre Reverend" [I include myself in this] but the Finnish warlock's second cauldron of unctuous, poisonous doom proved to exceed my expectations.
The only real counterpoint to Reverend Bizarre's burial ground dynamics is St. Vitus, as Sabbath never EVER, laid on the morbidity quite as cloyingly as Reverend Bizarre.
The first thing that you notice is that the guitars are recorded and mixed far louder than before, and overall the mix is much more spacious giving this malevolent trio room to breathe and flex their musical chops.

Designed and built to the Reverend's demanding specifications, the new G6120RHH combines various aspects of classic Gretsch guitars throughout the years, along with modern stage-ready features, to offer a guitar that fans have been demanding from Gretsch for years.
One of the most beloved musicians and founders of the 'psychobilly' genre, Reverend Horton Heat has inspired a devoted fan base who, for many years, have been asking Gretsch to release a guitar with the Reverend's personal specifications.
Not merely cosmetic, all of the features on this new model have been added based on Heat's own experience with them on stage, and the guitar has proven itself time and again to be a reliable tool for performing and recording.

 LIVE 8 -- Philly
The still quite trim Reverend Al Sharpton walked by, and I ran into an old friend from MTV News, Serena Altschul, who looked lovely as always.
As I listened to Jigga's masterful Brooklyn flow meshing with Linkin Park's stomping, mathematically-precise drums and crunching distorted guitars, I thought: maybe this generation will finally wake up, come together, and leave the age-old hatreds behind.
I thought that was the perfect metaphor for Live 8: even when we face cripplingly difficult situations, we all need to remember that anything is still possible.

Check out Voo Doo A GoGo's spinmeister Professor Jef exclusive in-nyc.com insider interview with director, Nick Zedd and Saint Reverend Jen (writer and topless elf) of the film cult classic Lord of The Cockrings.
In April, Professor Jef interviewed En Esch, the co-founder of KMFDM, who's now fronting Slick Idiot -- a mad concoction of industrial vocals, hip-hop rhythms, heavy metal guitars, techno tempos, and the deep, orgasmic throb of disco.
Kid Congo Powers reflects on some of the deeply personal roots of the alternatively haunting, irreverent, passionate, patient, and beautiful music he has been making for over twenty years.

North American Instruments - Gallery of Guitars
LONG VERSION: Semie Moseley was a much better Gospel musician than he was a businessman and, together with the Reverend Ray Boatright, they founded the Mosrite Guitar Company.
It carries the Mosrite, oval-shaped, orange "Bakersfield" label and has a slightly scalloped headstock, instead of the jagged "M" found on the celebrity and others.
This part of the story is a little vague but, Semie either sold or gave away the Blue Gospel guitar and it found its way into a St. Louis County music store, wherein I acquired it in the early 70s.

Rough Edge: Sixty Watt Shaman CD Reviews
Sixty Watt Shaman is Edward Daniel Kerzwick on vocals, Joseph Nicholas Selby on guitars, James Robert Forrester (the Reverend) on bass, and C. Joseph Dukehart on drums.
The seeming ease that the band goes about its musical business is borne of blood, sweat, and tears - something that those of us on the outside don't see and surely wouldn't understand.
Another clue about the organic nature of the band is the fact that this disc was recorded in two days and mixed in another two days.

Dallas Music Guide - Burden Brothers 'Buried In Your Black Heart' album review
Bentley’s control over his fills pour out of all over the track, as jitter-bugging guitars mute and open, revealing the huge chorus of “you can for me, like I can do for you” that sticks like day old gum in your brain.
He himself is living down his past as the skins man for Reverend Horton Heat, but is well on his way to leaving that shadow behind replacing punk aesthetic with rock power.
Buried In Your Black Heart is the record that Todd Lewis and Taz Bentley needed to make in order to escape (well, maybe not escape) but to remove themselves from their local legendary status of yesterday.
