After some delay, his southern catalogue was published in 1847 as the “Results of Astronomical Observations made during the years 1834-1838 at the Cape of Good Hope; being the completion of a telescopic survey of the whole surface of the visible heavens, commenced in 1825” (hereafter referred to as the Cape Observations).
There are many cases where the General Catalogue, although evincing the most scrupulous care both in observing and reducing, is not in accordance with the heavens.” (Dreyer, 1888) 1.5 The Revised New General Catalogue The first major revision of the NGC appeared in 1973 as the “Revised New General Catalogue of Nonstellar Astronomical Objects” (RNGC).

The catalogue was compiled in the 1880s by J.
The NGC was published in the Memoirs of the Royal Astronomical Society as A New General Catalogue of Nebulae and Clusters of Stars, being the Catalogue of the late Sir John F.W. Herschel, Bart., revised, corrected, and enlarged.

 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Censorship of Books
No doubt, the new Christians moved by grace and the Apostolic word did so of their own accord; but all the more was their action approved by St. Paul himself, and it is recorded as an example worthy of imitation by the author of the Acts of the Apostles.
The new index, published at length by Clement VIII (1596), contained, besides additions to the catalogue of forbidden books, not only the ten rules but, directly after them, an instruction on the prohibition, expurgation, and printing of books, some remarks on the fourth and ninth rules, and on several of the forbidden books.
This new index (1758) far surpasses all former ones by reason of the correction of the many typographical errors and inaccuracies to be found in the earlier indexes, so that it is in every sense the best edition published prior to 1900.

The current version of the NGC and IC catalogues, known as NGC.2000, covers the entire sky and provides data on more than 13,100 objects.
Errata compiled by Dreyer and by subsequent workers have been incorporated into the new version and the object types have been updated with information from modern astronomy; descriptions given by Dreyer (often cryptic) have been retained.

Add to that the fact that Magdala had a reputation as a licentious city, and that the Magdalene apparently had money (Luke says that she ministered to Jesus out of her “substance”), and we arrive at the conclusion: Mary Magdalene was the sinner who washed Christ’s feet with her tears.
Conveniently, this happened at the same time as the rise of postmodern literary theory, which held that all texts were unstable and porous, marked by “gaps” that the reader had to fill.
With tweezers, as it were, Schaberg goes through the New Testament, the Gnostic Gospels, and later writings to pull out and expose the textual maneuvers by which, in her words, the Magdalene was “replaced, appropriated, and left behind” by the orthodox Church.

Deep Sky Field Guide To Uranometria 2000.0
The selection of deep-sky objects in Uranometria 2000.0 was based primarily on The Revised New General Catalogue of Nonstellar Astronomical Objects (RNGC) of Sulentic and Tifft.
Sky Catalogue 2000.0 (and thus Uranometria 2000.0) also lists hundreds of mostly dwarf galaxies that are quite faint but which have low radial velocities ("redshifts").
Limitations such as these derive partly from the catalogues used for Uranometria 2000.0 ---the information simply was not available when the source catalogues and the atlas were compiled; these are the types of problems that will always result when one tries to catalogue a body of knowledge that is constantly expanding.
