Evangelion's plot superficially revolves around the struggles by the paramilitary organization NERV to prevent the city of Tokyo-3 and the Geofront underneath it from being destroyed by monstrous beings called Angels.
Evangelion is generally viewed to be a part of the soft science fiction genre, by avoiding the technical hard S.F. approach of Gundam and other popular mecha anime in favor of psychology and metaphysical symbolism.
In the Evangelion soundtrack Addition, a twenty minute audio drama was included that reunited the entire voice acting cast, titled "After the End." The drama is set after episode 26 and has the characters discussing a sequel to the show, clearly breaking the fourth wall.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Evangelion consists of 26 television episodes which were first aired on TV Tokyo from October 4, 1995, to March 27, 1996, and was followed by two movies: Death and Rebirth and The End of Evangelion, each first screened in 1997.
When Neon Genesis Evangelion aired on Toonami's Giant Robot Week in 2003, it was obvious that much of the episode that was aired (Episodes 1 and 2) were heavily edited, including edits to Misato's binge drinking and, for some odd reason, the absence of Pen-Pen, Evangelion's mascot.
Evangelion also introduced a new wave of fans who are far less interested in the technical aspects of science fiction anime and more interested in analyzing the metaphysical symbolism that they perceived, in contrast to Gundam and many previous anime which were presented as hard science.

 Asuka Langley Soryu Information
Her mother, Kyoko Zeppelin Soryu, was the half-Japanese, half-German head scientist of NERV's German branch of the Evangelion Project, but went insane after a test and began to believe that Asuka's doll was her real daughter, even refusing to acknowledge the real Asuka, calling the poor four-year-old "That girl over there".
In Evangelion fanfiction, Asuka and Shinji are often paired as a couple, despite her generally regarding him with restrained contempt and him regarding her with wariness and trepidation.
Despite the fact that Asuka's birthdate is generally given as December 4, 2001 (see Neon Genesis Evangelion timeline), her age is usually given as 14 in the anime and manga.

Syriac Versions of the Bible, by Thomas Nicol
The manuscript from which the fragments have come appears to belong to the 5th century, but scholars believe the text itself to be as old as the 2nd century.
It means "the Gospel of the Separated," and points to the existence of single Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, in a Syriac translation, in contradistinction to Tatian's Harmony.
Such quotations as are found in other extant remains of Syriac literature before the 5th century bear a greater resemblance to the readings of the Curetonian and the Sinaitic than to the readings of the Peshitta.
